Encoder
The EE240 is a configurable PCM Encoder datacollection system for analog and digital signals. It is a modular system with a range of signal conditioning modules. EE240 is qualified for launch on the Ariane 5, but is mostly used in military missiles and industrial applications. The EE240 can be used stand-alone or as plugin modules for the EE235 Solid State Recorder (SSR) system. The mechanics has boxes for 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 modules.

EE236 Power Module
The power is available for two input voltage ranges: 12 (9-18) or 28 (19-36) VDC.

EE240 PCM Encoder Module
The controller board of the EE240 system has 32 analog inputs. Up to 16 of the inputs may be differential. The board has 8 digital inputs for parallel or PCM word serial data. The module generates the source address for input data to the signal conditioning modules. They will return multiplexed data to the EE240 data inputs. EE240 can handle 1000 signals. All addresses are selectable via the EE200 programming software. The EE240 module has room for the optional EE878 Conditioning & Timing board.

EE242 Analog Signal Conditioning
It has 32 channels of bridge amplifiers. There are internal bridge completion resistors and one gain resistor (gain 1-1000) per channel. The bridge reference is +5 or 10V. The EE242 module has room for the optional EE880 board with 32 channels og 4-pole filters.

EE243 Digital Interfaces Module
The unit has 32 On/Off inputs with logic level or selectable threshold. There are 4 frequency inputs with configurable frequency/period/event counters.

EE244 Thermocouple Module
The module may be configurated for 32 type J or K sensor inputs. The EE244 module has room for the optional EE880 board with 32 channels of 4-pole filters.

EE245 Charge Amplifier Module
The 32 channel module is designed for piezoelectric accelerometers and similar charge output transducers. A voltage input type amplifier is used with an internal input termination resistor of 10 MΩ to ground. The EE245 module has room for the optional EE880 board with 32 channels of 4-pole filters.

EE246 Serial Data Packets Module
The module receives up to 4 channels RS232 / RS422 serial data packets. A CPU routes data from input UARTs to the EE240 Encoder. Four NRZ+CP inputs handle high speed binary data packets. Data allocations in the PCM format are synchronous or asynchronous. EE246 is configures by sending ASCII text string Command Packets from a PC. The setup is stored in Flash memory on the EE246.
EE247 Analog Expansion Module
The board has four 16 channel analog single-ended multiplexers. They may be used combined in differential mode. The E880 32.channel filter may be included in the module.

EE248 GPS Receiver Module
The module has an internal GPS receiver. 10 Hz Raw data messages MBN, PNB, SAL and SNV are routed to the EE240. Position messages GGA, VTG, GLL and RMC at 1 Hz update rate are also available. The GGA message with 3D position, time and status are processed and placed in fixed PCM word positions. These data are available as clear text numeric values.
EE249 Ethernet Module
The EE249 module has two standard PC Ethernet LAN inputs for data packets. Complete packets, selected sections or processed packet data can be embedded into the EE240 PCM format. Input data is routed via an Altera NIOS CPU to FIFO or Dual Port RAM memories. The EE240 Encoder can address these memories per PCM word basis to fetch data. The EE240 addresses are assigned in the EE200 Format Generator software. The present EE200 version already supports the progamming required for the EE249.
EE878 Conditioning and Timing
This is an optional board for the EE240 module. EE878 has 12 differential bridge amplifiers with individual 4-pole low pass filters. The configuration is by internal (socketed) parts mounting. The board has time counters for embedding of relative time (0.1 ms to 4095 hours) in the PCM format.

EE880 Filter 32 Channels
Each channel has a 4-pole active low pass filter. The filter frequency is set by mounting of 4 capacitors per channel. The configuration parts are mounted on sockets for easy exchange. The EE880 cover filter frequencies from 10 Hz to 50 kHz. The filter outputs are multiplexed and fed to the EE240 analog inputs. EE880 is an optional piggyback board for the EE242, EE244, EE245, EE247 modules.

EE200 Format Generator
EE200 is a software package for configuration of the EE240 PCM Encoder with format structure and signal selections. The EE200 automatically generates the optimum PCM Format based on entered signal requirements. Manual selections are possible at all levels. Up to 8 independent PCM formats may be downloaded via RS232 into the EE240 and stored.
